Every now and then, a story arrives that feels like sunshine peeking through the trees. Flynn and Rex Save Their Forest Home began that way for me, a spark of joy and curiosity that grew into something bigger and brighter than I could have imagined.
It’s a story about two forest friends, Flynn the clever fox and Rex the curious raccoon, who discover their forest is in trouble. Instead of giving up, they roll up their sleeves (well, paws) and set out to bring it back to life. Along the way, they learn that small acts of care can make a big difference when everyone works together.
I wanted to write a book that helps children see the magic in helping, the joy in teamwork, kindness, and caring for the world around us. Because even little heroes can make the biggest impact. As I wrote the story and began illustrating it, I fell in love with their world! They have shimmering streams, the tall green trees, and the laughter between friends who believe they can change things for the better. The art is bright and painterly, full of color and light, because I wanted every page to feel like joy.
The heart of Flynn and Rex Save Their Forest Home is simple. When we care for nature, it cares for us. Whether it’s recycling, protecting animals, planting trees, or keeping our forests clean, every small effort helps our planet thrive. I hope children will close the book feeling proud of how powerful their choices can be, and maybe feel inspired to start their own forest-saving adventure right at home.Flynn and Rex Save Their Forest Home will be published in early 2026, and I can’t wait to share it with you. It’s more than just a story. It’s an invitation to notice the beauty in nature, to care for it, and to believe that our actions matter.
My dream is for families to read it together and feel inspired to take simple, joyful steps: sorting the recycling, planting flowers for bees, picking up litter on a walk, or learning more about how to keep forests healthy and wild. At its heart, this story is a celebration of friendship, courage, and hope, a reminder that when we work together, we can make our world shine a little brighter.
